Jasmina Cibic talks with Róna Kopeczky and Martina Marić Rodrigues

Artist Jasmina Cibic and guest curator Róna Kopeczky will converse with the exhibition curator Martina Marić Rodrigues.

About the artist:

Guest speaker Róna Kopeczky (b. 1983) is a curator and art historian, living and working in Budapest since 2004. She received her PhD from the Sorbonne University in 2013. Between 2006 and 2015 she was curator at the Ludwig Museum – Museum of Contemporary Art in Budapest, where she focused on site- and situation-specific art practices of young and middle-generation artists from the Central and Eastern European region. Since 2015, she has been the artistic director of acb Gallery in Budapest and an active contributor to the research programs and publications of Acb ResearchLab. She worked on the first OFF-Biennale Budapest in 2015 and joined the curatorial team of its second edition which took place in 2017. She is co-founder and co-leader of the Easttopics platform, dedicated to representing the Central and Eastern European contemporary art scene. She was the curator of the 18th Tallinn Print Triennial, which ran in 2022 with a Central-Eastern European focus under the title Warm. Checking temperature in three acts in the Estonian capital. She worked on the elaboration of Secondary Archive, a platform dedicated to women artists from Central and Eastern Europe, and launched in 2021. She contributed to the presentation of the Secondary Archive platform and the conception of its situation-specific sound installation at the 14th Manifesta Biennale in Pristina in 2022. Since 2022 she has been an advisory curator for Central and Eastern Europe at Donumenta Regensburg public art program. Róna Kopeczky is the curator of the Hungarian Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale.
