Solo show by Pavle Pavlović
Curator: Marijana Stanić

In his new painting series, Pavle Pavlović explores the specific issues of voyeurism related to contemporary society in which the virtual and the physical aspects become co-dependent. Due to the enormous amount of information that we are exposed to on a daily basis, it becomes more and more difficult to differentiate the real experience from the virtual one. Given that his method of work is directly related to photographs collected from the Internet, Pavlović himself starts to associate with others’ experiences which he entirely adopts in his work process.

The series was envisioned as a life cycle of an imaginary individual, that is, a collection of life segments that the artist considers to form a possible repeating pattern in the contemporary world of spectacles. The initial idea is drawn upon the thought by which there are no longer any heroes left in the present-day world – there are no longer any musical and artistic individuals or thinkers who once used to shape the thoughts and break the barriers of their time.
