Ivana Fischer at Poola Gallery in Pula

On Friday, October 3rd, at 7 p.m., artist Ivana Fischer will open her solo exhibition “Are We Hungry for a Tribe?” at Poola Gallery in Pula.

The exhibition will remain open until October 24th, 2025.

With the exhibition “Are We Hungry for a Tribe?” I explore contemporary forms of togetherness through the lens of fragile relationships, emotional voids, and a quiet longing for closeness. The collages evoke intimate landscapes of family, relationships, and lost safe havens. Fragmented, layered, and often messy, these visual narratives reflect a reality in which the boundaries and conditions of “the tribe” have become increasingly blurred – no longer defined by blood, but by a sense of belonging, tenderness, and mutual care.

The exhibition articulates a space of questioning: are we still capable of intimacy? And where do we search for “our tribe” when words run out, when relationships fall apart in silence, and when the world grows ever more hurried and alienated? In the collages, traces of these attempts can be recognized – glances, gestures, memories, and wounds – testimonies of the effort to create and maintain connection. Although togetherness appears as a temporary and fragile configuration, the search for others remains persistent and unbroken.
