Sara-Vide Ericson
Sara-Vide Ericson (f.1983) studied at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm (2004–2009). She lives and works in Hälsingland, Sweden. With exhibitions in Sweden and internationally she has been established as one of the most influential artists of her generation in Sweden.
In her practice, Sara-Vide Ericson re-enacts thoughts, experiences, fantasies, desires and dreams. The artist often employs staged photographs of her family and friends as well as her sensory memories as the foundation for her paintings. Blurring the lines between reality and fiction, Ericson’s works are vessels that carry meaning from beyond the canvas. Something ancient, something wild something you can’t quite quantify. They challenge our perception of real, fiction, authorship, emotions and notion of existence. An awakening call from the wild.
